So, Happy Everything!
Lots of things happen this time of year at the cabin. Christmas, New Year’s, and 3 birthdays in 5 weeks. I hope you had wonderful holidays with your family and that you are settling back into everyday life.

Happy New Year!
Of course, it always makes me reflect on the previous year. Here are some of the things that happened in 2014:
A relapse free year for our son with his kidney disorder. It has been four years ago this week that he was diagnosed with Minimal Change Nephrotic Syndrome. It was a very scary time for us. We have been blessed with a wonderful Nephrologist and nurses that have made this so much easier. The first few years were rough with frequent relapses, so going a whole year without one is a huge deal. Praise the Lord. We are praying that he is growing out of it as the doctor expects him to.
We built ourselves a Man Cave! It turned out great and we have very much enjoyed using it this past year. Lots of hard work but very rewarding to know we did it ourselves with some help from family.
Lowered my triglycerides. They were high two years ago and now way down low!
I read Trim Healthy Mama and learned so much about diet and the effects of what we eat on our insulin. I do not stick to it completely but I do think of things in terms of watching blood sugar. Diabetes runs in my family heavily so I have to be careful.
We biked the Virginia Creeper. Even the little cowgirl made it and we had lots of fun.
I listened to the Lord and my husband and started this blog! I have learned so much and gained a new respect for bloggers everywhere! This is hard, time-consuming work! I regret all the times I googled something I needed to know or was blessed by something I read and never told the blogger what it meant to me. I had no clue so much went into a blog!
I quit HBC in January! After 18 years it was past time and so now I have celebrated my FAMiversary this week. What is a FAMiversary you ask? I have used the Fertility Awareness Method to prevent pregnancy for a whole year. Absolutely one of the best decisions I have ever made!
Now for some resolutions:
Spend more time with the Lord is my #1 goal!
I signed up for Beth Moore’s Siesta Scripture Memory Team 2015 and I am looking forward to memorizing 24 scriptures this year. I love to memorize them but don’t always think to do it. I think 2 scriptures a month is a great number and you get to pick your own. Please join me!
Also, I am going to do my first online Bible study through Proverbs 31 Ministries. It starts January 26 and last for 6 weeks. It is on Karen Ehman’s Keep It Shut: What to Say, How to Say It, and When to Say Nothing at All. I would love to have you join me! You can sign up here.
This is very exciting for me. I have so missed going to a Bible study. We stay pretty close to home most of the time because any cold or sickness can cause a relapse for our son.
We hope to get our son off meds with no relapse this year. Please pray for a smooth transition for him.
Getting a will done.
I have to get my Vitamin D up!
Get rid of ovarian cysts naturally.
Moderation and not getting overwhelmed with pursuing health. Doing the best with what I can as I learn.
Minimalism. This is a new word for me and I am so inspired by it. My friend Rachel at Nourishing Minimalism has inspired me to get rid of 2015 things for 2015! Click here to view more details.
Then of course I have blogging goals.
I want this to be a place for women to find encouragement in their faith, caring for their families and most of all taking care of themselves.
Also, I hope to provide information and hope to families that have children with Nephrotic Syndrome. I look forward to sharing more about our journey to encourage others.
To find satisfaction in sharing what God lays on my heart and having the courage to share it. I want to rejoice in those that I do reach and bless; and leave it all in God’s hands.
Enough about the New Year!
This week I reached the age that I thought my mom was “older than dirt” and I sure don’t feel that old! I think it is pretty amazing, actually! I finally got the porch swing I wanted for almost 4 years!
Happy Epiphany !
I leave my decorations up at least until Epiphany. We don’t really do anything else for Epiphany but being born on it I have always held it close to my heart. I love any reason to celebrate Jesus.
I am looking forward to what God has in store for 2015. Can’t wait to share it with you.
